ACADEMIC CV

 

I am currently an Associate Professor of European and Comparative Labour Law at the University of Luxembourg, a member of the Department of Law and a Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for European Law

 

Since 2024 I am also Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy - UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education

 

In 2018 I received my Habilitation as Full Professor from the Italian Ministry of Educationa and Research for my second monograph on ‘Collective autonomy and employment protection. Elements for a framework of rehiring clauses in the multilevel system’ (CEDAM 2018).

 

Since 2022, I hold a Jean Monnet Chair in EU labour law to research and teach on the sustainability of the European Social Model.

Between 2020 and 2023 I have coordinated the Horizon 2020 project Working Yet Poor’, funded by a Research and Innovation Programme of the European Union.

I serve as an Expert in the ECE European Labour Law Network consulting the EU Commission on topics relating to EU labour law. 

 

I am part of the Editorial Boards of specialised journals in the field of labour law and industrial relations including European Employment Law Cases – EELC, Revue Pratique de Droit Social – RPDS, Rivista Italiana di Diritto del Lavoro – RIDL, Giornale di diritto del lavoro e delle relazioni industriali – DLRI.

 

I have also served as peer reviewer in the area of labour law for Hart Publishing and Cambridge University Press, and for international journals including the International Journal of Comparative Labour Law and Industrial Relations –IJCLLIR, the Industrial Law Journal – ILJ, the European Labour Law Journal – ELLJ, Rivista Italiana di Diritto del Lavoro – RIDL, and the Giornale di diritto del lavoro e delle relazioni industriali – GDLRI.  

 

I have spent periods as Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna (2023), the Université Catholique de Louvain (2024), and the University of Turin (2023/2025). I was an academic visitor at the COMPTRASEC – Université de Bordeaux (2023). 

 

I previously held academic positions at Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, where I obtained a PhD in Labour Law (2007).

 

Since 2024 I am fellow of the ISLC - Information Society Law Center
